This was an amazing place to visit full of insightful information about what would have happened if Nukes were ever launched in anger. Visited today with my partner, we had a great time. It’s very surreal, so much history and original items on display. So strange being below the surface but you don’t even notice it. Cool tanks on display outside as well which was a nice touch. Very interesting!

Fantastic place to visit. Very interesting, lots of information. Friendly staff. There is a cafe which serves food and drinks. It is underground and can feel a bit clostrophobic but it's a bunker so it will feel odd.

Visited here in July with my teenage son. It was very interesting. I was worried I would feel claustrophobic due to it being underground, but you forget this aspect quite quickly. We easily spent nearly 2 hours here and could probably have stayed longer. Rooms are a literal time capsule of how they would … More have been. There was plenty of information to read and the 2 cinemas showing films were good as well, my only minor criticism was the quieter parts of the film we were watching was sometimes drowned out if there was a loud part in the film through the wall. My son found it all very interesting and loved the visit as did I, however I found the fact this place existed at all to be very sobering indeed.

I've visited multiple times, and it never ceases to impress me, the scale of the construction and the quality of the preservation of this WW2 bunker. With fully furnished rooms and uniforms, there is so much war history as well as 1930/40s history in this massive underground labyrinth. Don't … More worry, you won't get lost. All paths are well laid out and signposted.

This was such an interesting and educational place. Brilliantly curated. It felt like a real privilege to be a fly on the wall, but also a stark reminder of the horrific implications of nuclear war. So glad to have visited

A very interesting place for insights into the events of the Cold War. Original locations have been carefully recreated and are well-received. Free photography, free parking, and a café are also available.

This place was really interesting. Despite the fact I'm not really into military history I still had a great and very educational visit. Very interesting place to visit and learn about the Cold War and the dangers associated with a nuclear attack on the country. Massive preparations were in place and everything is explained really well via the self-guided audio tour. Very sobering place.

It was a fascinating insight into a time not so long ago. Many things were explained vividly, and the audio guide was a good addition and worthwhile for us.

We were greeted at the entrance by an armed soldier, which gave us a real sense of this impressive nuclear bunker, which was used by the Scottish government during the Cold War. An audio guide helped us immerse ourselves in that era! A real insider tip!

Fab place to look around ,very interesting and informativee went with the kids (who are 12 years and above) and they loved learning about everything .the bunker is defo more suitable for older kids .I do think there needs to be more of a interactive element for kids as there isn't a lot for them … More to do.Would say also souvenir shop is very expensive,couldn't believe some of the prices

Great to experience what would have happened with the "other half" should we have been attacked. The long film depicting attacks was very informative, graphic and made you think. It did seem very realistic.We went at 2.30pm and wish we had gone earlier as the last half of the lower floor was … More rushed as they shut at 5. Far more to see than you imagkne. Very interesting, a real time capsule. It could be a bit more effective and tidy here and there, but that's perhaps part of the charm of the whole thing. It's a large complex. You can buy coffee and cookies. Restrooms are available. Parking is available.

It's incredible that there's an entire bunker beneath this charming farmhouse! It's expensive to visit, but worth it, especially if you're interested in history. Unfortunately, we didn't see the two house cats that apparently live there.

A fascinating experience and it was great to be free to explore all the different rooms of the bunker at our own pace (not a guided tour). Plenty of free parking and there’s even a little cafe down in the bunker!

You are met by costumed soldiers and barbed wire fencing - all very Cold War ! It sets the scene nicely for what is to follow - an amazing underground complex of rooms, old technology and stories.It’s not cheap but if you are / are with an enthusiast on the subject, it is definitely worth visiting

Secret Bunker is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. I would even go back again, it is well laid out and very cleverly planned. It has everything you would need if there was a nuclear war.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Secret Bunker, absolutely fascinating! Well worth a visit! Would recommend people use the audio guides (we did) as you'll gleen a better understanding of the bunker that you miss out on just walking round.

Would have gave 5* however the price of the cafe was outrageous £3 for a cup of tea, £5 for a bacon roll and £2.50 for a cadbury snack barBut other than that what a place would happily visit again though I'd highly recommend eating before you go or have a picnic in your vehicle ready to eat

Well worth a visit. A little expensive to go in but worth it. Very interesting. The bunker was decommissioned in 1993 but has been well maintained with all the original equipment still in there. 100 feet underground with 3 meter thick solid concrete walls it covers an area of 26000 square feet. Military … More command and operations rooms, bunk rooms, communications rooms, radar tracking rooms, 2 cinemas, original canteen etc are all open to walk around. If you can spare a couple of hours I would definitely recommend going.

We only came across it here by chance and then went in. It was a mega experience that I didn't expect, definitely a must see.

Not quite a secret any more! This doesn't look like much above ground but it's a huge site below ground & depicts so much history of various eras. Definitely recommended. Parking is free & not too far from the entrance allowing you to save your energy for walking around inside.

Immersive and realistic experience. Actually longer that you would expect, around 2 hours without watching the movies (40 and 20 mins). A deep dive in the 60s with a lot of information and secrets of the past. A must do if you're in Scotland or in the area! I had no idea this existed, just outside St Andrews and under an hour from Dundee. What a fantastic piece of history! Really interesting, loads to see inside and lots of information. Some trucks and planes outside Entry cost £37 for 2 adults. Definitely worth a visit if your in the area.

Very interesting place, full of facts and history. All beautifully preserved. Sobering to think all this was going on during peacetime and we knew nothing about it. Great cafe but can't comment on the food as the cook hadn't turned up so only drinks and light snacks on offer, crisps, cakes. … More Reception lady very helpful and offered to keep an eye on the pooch while we went in the cafe as no dogs allowed.

The bunker is spread over 2 levels. If you're able to walk down the stairs to each level there is wheel chairs available for you to use to get around on that level. You have to go down a tunnel before you get to the main bunker. The toilets and cafe are on the first floor. There are lots of rooms … More laid out to show the way they were when the bunker was in use. From the sleeping bunks with the packs, the radio rooms with the technology of the time.The head quarters and radar rooms on the lower floor etc. There is a twin film room. The film's aren't on for long. The film in room 1 is what would happen if a nuclear bomb went off in Britain and it goes through that scenario and it can be quite upsetting as it's very detailed but very informative. The Armoury room is really impressive and has lots of guns/shells on display. The outside has different military vehicles to look at. We spent over 2 hours here and we all enjoyed the experience. We were also very lucky to spot Cleo the M.O.D cat

Really interesting look back on the cold war and what mutual destruction actually meant for the population of Scotland. We spent a couple of hours here, there are a couple of cinema rooms showing old films which were certainly eye opening. Again a husband's choice. Disguised as a crofters house Really interesting with a lot about the cold war nuclear weapons threat and preparations. The films which are on show in the cinema are a bit daunting, but worth seeing, if just that the 'victims' look so realistic, even the children … More in the film. I'm ex military and took my daughter here and we both enjoyed it. I recommend anyone who is in the area to go experience this. There is no guide so you are free to walk about on your own and take your time.You can buy audio aids for £2 odds for additional information at the various rooms. 5 STAR,Truly amazing tiny wee building with a huge overwhelming massive building 3-4 metres under the concrete ground.What amazes me is that £13-14 sounds steep per adult but when you come away from the bunker and back up to the land level you truly can’t walk away thinking you’ve got yourself a bargain … More and jt probably should have been £20+ per person.The self directed tour starts with a massive walk down a tunnel in what feels like you’re getting closer and closer into the earths crust and I suppose you are when you learn that the 18°C heat down there is solely generated by the earth itself and not by heaters. A sobering and yet remarkable experience. Might not be the most exciting for young children but young adults and beyond this is a very interesting and informative place. Highly recommend.
